Fall is setting in...

here in Louisiana. The days are getting cooler, a few trees have changed their colors, and I am getting so excited for the holidays! I've started decorating around the house for Halloween, and I've been crafting for the holidays, and of course for our little one's room.
This is the adorable hair bow holder I made for her!

In other news, we went to GA over the Labor Day weekend for a baby shower that my sister Kyrie threw for me. It was wonderful!

Isn't it funny...when my family moved to GA in 2000, I was determined that I would never call it home. Colorado was my home...that was where I grew up, that was where my friends and family were. Georgia wasn't home, and one day, I would go back to Colorado. So many things have changed. What I find funny is that I never wanted to call Georgia home... until I had to leave it. The friends that you have when you are little don't stick around like family does, and family is what's forever. As much as I hated Georgia growing up, as much as I wanted to get away from Cartersville, the second I realized I had to leave, I realized that I would be leaving my home. How cliche do I sound to say "Home is where the heart is"? And of course I have a home here with my wonderful husband, but it's just us in our own house that makes this home. Nothing can replace the love of family. Our hearts are full from the the love we have for our family in GA, including the most amazing ward that I could ever ask for. We are blessed to have moved into a great ward, but nothing compares to HOME.

I'm so lame!!

I can't believe it's been this long since I've updated this thing, especially when I made my goal to update twice a month! I'll try to get all three of you up to date!

Chris and I have officially moved from Gulfport, MS!!  YES! We are now living on Barksdale AFB, LA in the Bossier City/Shreveport area. And this is our wonderful house!

The weather isn't nearly as bad as MS, but it's still hot, hot, HOT! It hits around 100 everyday, and of course it's humid! The ward here is wonderful, and VERY welcoming! We've met a lot of sweet people, and we are hopefully on our way to making some great friends. About half of the ward is military, which is a definite perk! I'm really looking forward to living here, and getting to know the members here. It's definitely an exciting new chapter in our lives!

On a MUCH more exciting note, a few weeks ago my mom and my oldest nephew Ethan came to visit us from GA. They stayed just long enough to go to the Dr. with Chris and I to find out the sex of our baby. And the verdict is....We're having a baby GIRL!!

We could not be more excited about this! I knew it was a girl all along, and once the Dr. confirmed it for Chris it was like we could finally take a big deep breath and enjoy the moment. It's so wonderful to be able to buy little girl clothes(which I'd already started buying) and decorate the baby's room, and pick out the name, which we'd already had picked out. For those of you that may be interested, we are going to name our precious and beautiful baby girl... Regan Emily Wildes. I am just bubbling over with excitement!
And here is a picture of me at about 21.5 weeks! Yay!!

Hopefully this update will keep the masses satisfied for the time being, I'm getting a little cramped sitting here, so I'm up to walk around!
We love you all!

So much for twice a month, huh?

Ok, I will start this post by saying that the "o" button on my keyboard is not working so well, so there might be a few wrds here and there missing that (not so imprtant) vowel. My apolgies in advance, I am just so frustrated with it at this point that I dn't have the patience to go back and fix them all, or sit with my finger on the button fr 5 seconds hoping the letter will magically appear! So, on to the pst!

I knw I said I'd update at least twice a month, but April was just a CRAZY month for us! Finding out we were pregnant just made everything else less imprtant, and so much was going on.  To tell yu a little bit about the pregnancy, and maybe also because I have yet to start jurnaling my pregnancy, everything so far is fine! I've had my first ultrasund, and everything looks ok. I was able t tell the doctrs the exact day of my last menstrual cycle, s the due date is sound, there's no changing it! I am 11 weeks and 2 days! We will be moving t LA(Louisiana) befre I am 20 weeks, so we won't find out the sex until we are there! But here is a pic fr yu all, because I knw that the 3 of yu that read this are just dying t see it!
Notice the little curly at the bottm that makes my baby look like a monkey? I LOVE IT! I am beyond excited fr the coming months. I am kind f happy t be mving n from my first trimester. Hpefully the sickness with pass with it. Getting sick is smething I've gotten used to, but it's still nt pleasant. I have realized what causes me to get the sickest, and that is NOT eating. Ironic, huh? I didn't figure this out until I hadn't eaten fr about 3 or 4 days, and I was throwing up carbonated air from all f the ginger ale I'd been drinking! S if I don't eat smething small at least every three hours, I end up getting sick. Sme days, I can't blame it on nt eating, and I'll get sick from the smell of smething crazy, like our kitchen sink, fr example! Sme days I'll get sick 4 or 5 times a day, and other days I'm perfectly fine, but hpefully once I'm into the 2nd trimester my sickness will go away like smeone flipped a switch! Maybe...?

Well, other than my pregnancy, the only thing happening in our lives is Chris' school, which will be finished at the end f June! YAY! We are so excited fr him t finally be graduated, and fr us to be permanent party! We are very VERY excited t finally be stationed at a base knwing that we will get to STAY there fr at least 2 years. And Chris' job at Barksdale is one that he will enjoy, s that is definitely a bonus! WOO HOO! Chris has been doing extremely well in school, and s far hasn't made below an 'A' on any test!! How smart is he?! I am s proud f him and all f the hard work he puts into what he is doing!
Ok, well I feel a little bit bad because of all the pregnancy info, and then one teensy little bit on Chris, s I will have t cme back and write more, but our apartment is in definite need of a good scrub down!

Loving you all, Cait

Pictures...as promised!

So, just like I promised last time, I have some pictures of our apartment for you all! We are so lucky to call this place home! These are just a few, because we are hosting an Airman's spouse for a few days, and therefore could not get a decent picture of our living room! So here they are!
YAY! I was so excited when I opened the fridge, yes the fridge, on Valentine's Day and found this!
Chris knew exactly what to get me! I absolutely love the Willow Tree figurines, and it makes me so happy to see this everyday.
These are the picture frames we made for Super Sat! So happy with how mine turned out!
Chris was adamant on having a jar of shells! He's so funny sometimes!
Here is our tiny kitchen! Nothing much to talk about here!

Love this!

The dining room table that we never use!
On top of our book shelf

Wall hangings I made for our living room! So easy to do, and so cheap!
And this is the Wildes Wall! I'm hoping to find more W's around, so far I've only been able to find these three!

Well, that's our apartment...or at least that's all you'll get to see of it for now! Hope you enjoy!

A few months mean A LOT of changes!!

So, I am horrible at blogging, obviously! But I am going to be a changed woman, I'm dedicated! I am setting a goal for myself to update at least twice a month! I want us to have a safe place for our memories and pictures, and for our story. So here is an update from the last few months!

First off, Chris graduated from BMT (Basic Militay Training)!! WOO HOO! I went to his graduation, and it was without a doubt, some of the happiest moments of my life. It's a hard thing to not see your best friend, to not talk to them, and to not hear them laugh for such a long time. He makes me so happy, and I feel so blessed to have found him, and to be able to share my life with him. He makes me so proud.
This is Chris during the Airman's Run. It was the first time I'd seen him in over two months!
Right after the Coin Ceremony. The first alone time we got, sitting in the car in a parking lot. It was perfect.
Right after the actual graduation. I LOVE my American Airman!
And here we are, husband and wife, together again!

So after Grad, Chris was sent to Mississippi for his technical training, aka his job training. He is in school at Keesler AFB. I moved to MS right before Thanksgiving, with the help of my wonderful mother. We have a really nice apartment about 10 miles from base, where we have celebrated our first Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years and Valentine's Day as a married couple! We have really grown to love it here. It was something that we never expected, but it's been great. We have made friends that were also an unexpected blessing. The friends we've made here are all wonderful examples to us, and I think that the military has worked in our benefit in forming these bonds. In the short time we've known them, I already know that they are going to be our lifelong friends, and we are so blessed to have them in our lives.
Here is our home! We are on the third floor!
On our way to a Thanksgiving dinner with the church branch on base.
Here is our first Christmas Tree!

Originally when Chris got his orders, we were going to be stationed in Nebraska. NEBRASKA?! I know, I couldn't believe it either. So we traded with someone who wanted NE, and we were going to go to Ohio. We were both really excited about going to Ohio, and getting to experience all of the church history, and the different climate and culture. Notice I said 'were'. We are now going to be stationed in LA. And I mean cajun country, not bright, sunny, smoggy Los Angelos. Going to Louisiana is going to be the start of a new journey and adventure for us, and even if we aren't happy about it now, and by 'we' I mean 'I', I need to keep in mind that we are going to be sent there for a reason. I know that we will be able to make the best of the situation, just like we did when we moved to MS. And I know that as long as I've got Chris by my side that all will be well.

Well, I'm afraid that that's all for now. I've got to clean up the apartment and run some errands before Chris comes home. Next post: pictures of our new home!

Love, Cait
